AUTUMN SHOW.

Large Entries Received For Events. For t)Ue Straitford A. and P. Association auitumn show, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, larige entries have been received for all events. Friday is the da'y for judging the stock. Amongst the animals entered .ire the finalists Manawatu Jersey Oaks, Mr C. B. Le-piper’s Maori Kismet, (vJhi'ch dead-heated for first place with Mr H. J. Lancaster’s Healtherlea Alice, and also Mr W Crosby’s Croydon Fern’s Marie which was. placed second. These successes were attained in a counpetiTuon wiit/h nearly 200 nominations Trom'the best Jersey, breeders in the Dominion. Dairymen will ibe especially interested in these- candidates, for additional honours. The Jersey classes are par ticularl'y strong, and all the most successful breeders will be repres >nted. The pig and sheep sections have also met 'v>’itih a good response. Horse entries almost constitute a record, and a number of spectacular ring events have been also arranged for the first day. The grand parade on Saturday. People’s Day, will take at 1.15 p.m., and from then onwards a magnificent programme will be t'taiged. There are two trotting races, one for sulkies and one in s 'd lieu steeplechase, wire, water and hunters competitions, and two axemen’s events; which have drawn thirty competitors in each, including the fast st men in the province. A large p-osf entrv of competitors for the national is assured. The Highland Pipe Band aird the Strat.ford Citizens’ will be in attendance, and Burgess ami Clarke’s loud speaker service will announce the progress of the respective ev: mts.
