STAY-IN STRIKE
Workmen! Support Mill Manager. Press Association —Copyright. Rotorua, March 9. A reversal of the usual course of events In industrial disputes has arisen in the Urewera Country, where G2 employees of Wilson Timber Mills, Ltd., decided, by a ballot, to adopt stay-in strike tactics as a protest against the alleged victimisation of the mill manager by the company. It is stated that the manager dismissed one of the workers, but was ordered by the company to reinstate him. When the maanger refused to do this he was dismissed. The men met and decided to demand the reinstatement of the manager, but when this was refused they decided to commence a stay-in strike. They claim that the Maoris in the surrounding district are sympathetic with their attitude and have offered to find them supplies if they are required.
