SODIUM CHLORATE.

Government To Be Asked To Provide Supplies. The Stratford sub-provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union resolved at to-day’s meeting to request the government to provide adequate supplies of sodium chlorate. The matter was referred to by Mr J. Wood in moving a remit on behalf of the Huiroa branch. He said that, if necessary the government should charter a sailing vessel and distribute supplies throughout New Zealand. “St does .seem tragic that in a -Wet year we are without supplies in the only spell of fine weather we h£ve had,” said Mr H. J. Marchant. Ragwort was a menace to the whole of New Zealand and -while they did not favour government control it was a case where assistance should be asked, said. Mr. T. T. Murray.
