Miss Beryl Masters returned to-day from a short visit to New Plymouth, spent with relations.

Mrs L. Jardine returned by car on Tuesday from Wanganui with Mr and Mrs G. Hall and Miss A. Uniacke.

Mrs Fredric, Brecon Road, returned from an enjoyable motor- tour of Rotorua and surrounding districts. She was accompained by her aunts, the Misses Brownley, of Oamaru, who are paying her a visit.

Mrs. A. Coleman, Brecon Road, entertained’some friends at tennis on Tuesday afternoon. Those present were Mrs. E. Buist, Mrs W. Farquharson, the Misses M. Malone, L. Penn, C. Uniacke, and O. Masters. Some very good sets were played.

Mrs L. J. Smith was “at home” on Tuesday afternoon at her residence, the Bank of New Zealand. She was looking smart in a navy blue stamped georgette. She had large cases of single dahlias in her drawing-room very effectively arranged. Those present were Mesdames J. Fredric, A. Coleman, W. J. Spence, J. Cressw'ell, L. Furrie; the Misses Brownley and R. Furrie.

Mrs L. C. Jolly, Page Street, has resumed her charming bridge parties to raise funds tor the Children’s Health Camp. Those playing on Tuesday were Mesdames O. M. Curtis, P. Thomson, North, R. Curtis, Graham, Furrie, A. W. Budge, Hunt, J. B. Richards, S. Pitt, and Miss Porritt. On Wednesday the players were Mesdames' P. Marchant, Shannon, Amess, R. Tyrer, Rowell, Thompson, Fookes, Bowler, and Miss Squire. On Wednesday evening tables were filled by Dr. Doris Gordon, Mesdames Rowles, Bishop, Heslop, Allen, Hunt, L. Smith, and Uniacke. Mrs. Jolly on Wednesday evening received her guests in a brown lace gown over silk.
