DIONNE BABIES.

Guardian Wants Release From Duties.

Press Association—Copyright. Toronto, Feb. 25.

The Minister of Welfare, Mr Croll, introduced a Bill in the Provincial Legislature to permit him to retire from the capacity of one of the guardians of the Dionne quintuplets and to substitute the Ontario official guardian, Mr. Wilson.

Mr. Croll said he expected that the parents would now assume an increasingly larger responsibility, leading to the ultimate re-uniting of the family. He explained that the quintuplets had become “big business” and he had virtually to choose between guardianship and his work for the Government.

Mr. Croll said the babies now had £lOB,OOO invested in bonds and contracts assuring them of an additional £40,000 annually for the next two years.
