NATIVE TREES.

“I think we should maintain a policy of planting native trees,” remarked the Mayor, Mr. J. W. McMillan, at the meeting of the Stratford Coronation committee, last night, during the discussion of tree planting during Coronation Week. New Zealand had trees that were as good as any that could be imported and some better. Evergreen trees required less pruning and did not litter the streets with leaves. Mr. W. F*. Kennedy, considered it important that deciduous trees could bo used as shade was not desirable during the winter.
