COMPETITION TENNIS
Petrie Shield Venues Now Altered.
For the sake of non-match playing members. 1 of the Midhirst Tentnis Club tile Petrie Shield Committee last night made slight alterations in the competition arrangements. The Midhirst club had forwarded a protest that too many of its matches were being played at home, thus keeping non-match playing members off the courts.
The committee decided to change the venues of the Midhirtt v. Cardiff match on February 27 and the Midhirst v. Ngaere match on March 13 from Midhirst to Cardiff and Ngaere respectively. Th© Midhirst v. Methodist A. match, which was to have been played at Midhirst on February 13, will now be played at the Methodist courts when the postponed round is played on March 20.
Three replies l have so far been received to the Stratford Tennis Club’s circular, suggesting the formation of a Central Taranaki senior championship. Whangamomona and Ratapiko are strongly in favour of the scheme but Douglas, which is already par taking in two competitions, is not able to come into the scheme.
