Mr W. Ireland, Stratford, who frac tured his ankle while competing in tha Taranaki Athletic Championships at New Plymouth on Saturday, has been admitted to the Stratford Hospital for treatment. Sergeant-Major J. L. O. Rowe left this morning with an advance party which will make preparations for the annual military camp which commences at Waverley on Saturday. Mr. John Grey Henry died at Stratford on Thursday at the age of 74 years. Mr. Henry, who had lived ;n Stratford the past 44 years, was born in Melbourne and came to Nelson with his parents when a boy. He ' came to Stratford in 1893 and was engaged in the building trade. He is < survived by his widow, two sons ! (Messrs V. J. Henry, Stratford, and J. R. Henry, Gordon Road) and four daughters (Mesdames W. L. Lacy, J. Butcher, B. N. Lunn (Mangatoki), ahd Miss Jean Henry).
