The Sunday Dispatch says that a wealthy South African has given Mr Jim Mollison £lO,OOO to ensure his participation in the Paris-New York air race in August. Mr Mollison says that he has ordered a three-engined Bellanca plane With a top speed of 275 miles an hour, a cruising speed of 240 miles an hour, and a range of 4000 miles. He cannot get a British machine owing to the factories being busy with Air Force planes. He has asked M. Moilinier. the French aviator, to accompany him.
