JERSEY CLUB.
Autumn Show Subsidy From New Zealand Association
The Stratford Jersey Cattle Club committee met this afternoon, Mr C. H. Clemow, president, being in the ehair.
The New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association advised that it
was quite agreeable to grant the usual subsidy towards an autumn show, but it was to be understood that no further subsidy of that (nature would be paid to the club in 1937, even in the event, of the Stratford A. and P. Association holding its usual spring show and deciding- to discontinue the autumn fixture should that venture prove to be unsuccessful. Support was accorded a remit from tho Tauranga Club that all Jerseycattle clubs have the right to forward remits to the annual meetings of tho New Zealand Jersey Gattie Breeders' Association.
Mr H. J. Kaye said he had felt for some time that the New Zealand Council seemed impatient of any interference or even suggestions to a large extent.
Mr. Clemow appealed to members to endeavour to give every support to the A. and P. Autumn Show. Personally he had hoped that the A. and P. Association would have definitely abandoned the idea of a spring show and concentrated on an autumn show. It would be a big plunge to attempt
two shows in one year. The date of the annual field day was tentatively fixed for Wednesday, April 7. It was decided to ask Mr. W. Crosby, Croydon Road, Waipuku. for permisison to hold the field day on his property. Mr H. J. Lancaster, Palmerston North, is to be asked to act as demonstrator.
