COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.
A most enjoyable time was spent at the home of Mrs and Mr S. Anstis, Pembroke Road, when they entertained friends at the coming-of-age party in honour of their daughter Joan. The evening was spent in dancing, games, and community singing. Much fun was added by the serving of a painty supper in a huge marquee erected on the lawn. Having cut the cake, which was made by her sister Inez, the usual toasts were honoured, the Rev. Mr. McFarland acting as M.C. Among Among those present were Mrs. W. Anstis, Mr and Mrs G. Anstis, Mrs Phelan, the Misses Milne,* Nash, Bradshaw, Anstis, Pollard, Crowe. Kelly; Messrs. Bone, Aitken, I. and O. Greaves, Carter, Skuse, Kelley, Phelan, and McGorman. The guest of honour received many useful and beautiful gifts, among which was a golden key in the form of a brooch, presented to her by her parents.
