Mr. B. M. Wilmshurst Receives Presentation.

Mr. B. M. Wilmshurst, formerly assistant town clerk at Stratford, who leaves- on Saturday to take up the position of Town Clerk at Upper Hutt, was farewelled by a gathering of the Stratford Borough staff last night. Mr. G. C. Grace, Town Clerk, Who presided, welcomed Mr. Skoglund, who was present, and expressed pleasure at Mr. Skoglund'E. l continued interest in the staff of the office which he formerly controlled. In making a presentation of a desk set to Mr. Wilmshurst, Mr. Grace expressed the hope that this would be accepted as a token of the appreciation which Mr. Wilmshurst had aroused during his 3J years in the borough office. During that time he had always vbrked with the staff aud the public. The promotion was Weil deserved and he was confident that Mr. Wilmshurst! would (Successfully undertake the responsibility of the new position which his ability had secured him.

Mr. A. E. Pollock, electrical inspector, expretsed similar sentiments, and congratulated Mr. Wilmshurst on securing a position which Was sought by a large number of applicants, some of whom were already town clerks Other members of the staff and Mr. Skoglund spoke and wished Mr. and Mis. Wilmshurst every success l in their new sphere.

Mr. Wilmshurst, in the course of his reply, said that he would in many ways be sorry to leave Stratford. He Would carry with him very pleasant recollections of his work under Mr. Skoglund and later under Mr. Grace He was particularly grateful to Mr. Skoglund for the training which had made him competent to nndorfako the ■position he had secured,
