GENERAL ELECTION.
Tasmania Votes Next Saturday.
Press Association—Copyright. Received noon. Hobart, To-day.
An extremely close contest is expected in th© Tasmanian General Election on Saturday. The Labour Government in the last two and a half years has depended on the vote of the Douglas Credit member, Carruthers, for its majority. It is now, however, considered unlikely that Mr. Carruthers will be returned, and if the Nationalist candidate wins his seat and the other seats remain unchanged, both parties would be represented by 15 members in a house of 30.
