TENOR HORN SOLO.

Results At Nelson This Morning.

Press Association —Copyright. Nelson, To-day.

The most noticeable feature that was wrong in the Tenor Horn Solo in the Band Cotest this morning was the tempo, said the judge, Mr. T. Goodall. Competitors played it like a dirge. The marks aw*arded were lowbecause so many expression marks were missed. The winner gave the best reading throughout, although his was not perfect. The first and second players were the only ones who gave reasonable and consistent tempo right through.

The results of the Tenor Horn Solo (in which there were 19 entries) were:—F. Ormrod, Port Nicholson Silver Band, 89; R. Frailcis, St. Kilda, 88; L. Scrivener, Port Nicholson Silver, 87.

Results of the Bass Trombone Solo were; L. Williscombe, DannevirKe Municipal, 88 points; B. Redmond, St. Joseph Orphanage Band, 80.
