BUTTER MARKET QUIET.
The London butter market continues quiet, according to advice received by the Dairy Board by arrangement with the Primary Products Marketing Department. New Zealand butter continues to fall, last week’s closing -pruj-s being 85/- to 86/- per cwt. for finest salted, compared with 86/- to 88/- for the previous week and 95/to 96/- a year ago. Deliveries last week were 2596 tons, compared with 1742 tons a year ago, while stocks in store total 4826 tons, against 3108 tons a year ago. Australian butter is quoted at 85/- to 86/-, compared with 8.6/- to 87/- for the previous week, stocks in store being 4195 tons, against 4536 tons a year ago. Danish is almost unchanged at 102/- f.0.b., and 122/- spot. Argentine is quoted at 84/> to 90/-; South Africa, 81/- to 84/-; Dutch, 96/- to 104/-; Siberian, 36/- to 88/-; Ukrainian, 86/- to 88/-, all practically unchanged from the previous week.
