CONRACTOR SHORTAGE.
The national road improveimeht undertakings, combined with the demand for new house building, is at present fully absorbing all the contractors- in the Central Taranaki district. The Public Works Department, it is understood, is experiencing some difficulty in securing satisfactory tenders to forward its programme of cmo£sing-elimination and other work, the chief difficulty being
11 th regard to securing sufficient competent bridge builders.
