Rubbers Stolen From Milking Machine. { Midhirst farmers are perturbed at ■ the possibility of a sneakthief being l in the district. Strange disappear- ; ances of farming articles have been I noted recently on various properties, ■ and yesterday morning, when one ; farmer went to commence milking, all j milk rubbers from his machine were i missing. A .careful watch is being ■ kept for the perpetrator of these petty j thefts. i Considerable inconvenience was i caused the farmer whose rubbers 1 were stolen, and the milking of hi& ; herd of 70 cows had to be carried out • by; hand until the local store opened ; and a new supply was purchased. It ; is thought that the thief rode a motori’cycle, as tyre tracks were found, j Parts of the rubber tubing were found ; outside the farm gate, indicating that ! a length was cut off to suit the thief’s i requirements.
