Motor Strike Conference Again Adjourned. Press Association—Copyright. Detroit, February 9. The motor strike conference was adjourned early this morning until to-night, it was believed earlier to be on the verge of collapsing when the General Motors Corporation issued a statement expressing doubt that anything was likely to be accomplished and reiterated its determination not to fee coerced into permitting the union to be the sole bargaining agency. It is stated that an offer to hold a secret ballot of all employees on the latter question was rejected by the union. Meanwhile, the city commission at Flint declared that an emergency existed and voted the Mayor, Mr Bradshaw, the power of a virtual dictator with complete control of 700 special police. Ironically Mr Bradshaw is an employee of the Buick Company.
