HANDSOME BUILDINGS
Recent Additions To Business Area. A survey of recent building construction work in the business area of Stratford serves to impress upon the observer the constant change in design. Four walls and a roof are no longer sufficient; the modern business structure is a thing of beauty, and when utility has been served everything is done to make the building pleasing to the eye. The last building to be completed in the business area was the Union Bank Chambers, and before long the commodious and handsome structure being erected for the Farmers’ Co-op. Society will be finished. Enough has been-completed to indicate that it will' be a fine addition to the town buildings. Thp firm is at present carrying on their grocery business in premises formerly occupied by Masters Ltd., and the lease will expire at the end of April. The property is owned by the Methodist Church Trustees and was formerly the site of the old Primitive Methodist Church. About 20 years ago the church was removed to its present location in Regan Street. When it was removed the trustees leased the ground for the erection of the concrete building which for a number of years was occupied by Masters Ltd. as a grocery store. Later those premises were acquired by the church. The property has a 76 ft. frontage to Broad way and contains a quarter of an acre.
