Liberation Of Fish To Be Commenced.

After hearing a report of overcrowding at the Durham Road hatchery the Strafford Acclimatisation Society decided at last night’s' meeting to arrange for liberation of 50 per cen‘ of the Society’s fish as soon as could be arranged. The visiting committee (Messrs E. Worthington and E. Eason) reported on a visit to the hatchery on Mon day.. It was found tho fish were in excellent condition but the committee reported that at present the ponds were overcrowded and as a re suit many eases of nipping were taking place. The meeting decided to liberate 50 per cent of the fish at the earliest op portunity in order to minimise th' nipping. It is proposed as far as pos sible to liberate the larger fish, which at six months are nearly four Inches long. Probably tho liberation will be. commenced at the week-end,
