MORTGAGE ADJUSTMENT.
First Sitting Of Commission Over. The first sitting of the Taranaki Mortgage Adjustment Commission concluded at Stratford yesterday after four days, three of which were occupied in commencing the hearing of the 401 applications which have been filed. Details of applications received by February 1 show that 311 were filed by mortgagors, 48 by lessees, and 24 by guarantors. Farmer applicants total 318, home applicants 38, and other applicants 28. There is one instance of a mortgagee filing notice to eomp l a mortgagor to submit his affairs to the commission.
