Japanese Buy Keenly At Sydney. Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, February 8. At the wool sales to-day 12,771 bales were offered and 11,871 sold at auction. A furtner 1919 bales were sold privately. There was very keen demand on Japanese account, with good support from the Continent, Yorkshire and American and Australian mills. The market retained all the best features of the last series. Greasy Merino made to 303 d a lb. The average price last week was £23 17s 6d a bale, or 19.1 d a pound.
