Or present a table cover which has a washable surface and elastic retainers at the corners. Rigid, baize-topped tables which fold quite flat are very acceptable gifts. Whole suits include canvascovered chairs, also made to fold easily, and, in green and blue, they can match the tables, all having frames of polished wood. Velvet in place of the canvas and the baize, in blue or green, is the more luxurious way of gaining bridge elegance. Nests of Trays. You cannot have too many trays 1 , and, for that reason, they are now sold in sets. Whether you cho.ose an enamelled tray with cane sides, or one in dark wood, you can have them in a nest of three or four. Limed oak makes a popular tray, but dark oak is even more acceptable. Both are heat-resisting. Another set of trays is in papier maclie, patterned With a quaint chintz design, on a silver background. The edges form a scalloped square, gilded at the tips. Again, these are in sets of three or four.
