City’s Surrender Confirmed From Gibraltar. Press Association—Copyright. Gibraltar, Feb. 8. Rebel wireless stations announced the surrender of Malaga after looting by the Loyalists. Rebel warships are reported to have entered the port. The British fruit steamer, Hallfern, arrived at Gibraltar from Malaga with refugees who have not yet been permitted to land.
Apology For Dropping Bombs Near Warship. Press Association—Copyright. Received 1 1.40 a.m. Valencia, February 8. The Spanish Government has apologised to Britain for bombing H.M.S. Royal Oak. It is admitted that fivej bombs were mistakenly dropped in her vicinity. Britain 'dees not contemplate any further action.
