SIR HARRY LAUDER.
Leaving For New Zealand On February 27. Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, To-day. “I have had to put my sailing back to February 27 now. It is my wish. I just want to get to New Zealand, and no fuss, no bands or flare of any kind —Just plain Harry Lauder. . What I intend to do is to go right away to Southland to see my old friend, Macdonald, who, I fear, is very ill. Then I shall have some fishing with my friend in Invercargill, Mr John Smith. Then I propose to work my way up the South Island, cross to Wellington to have a bit of fishing with your good self. Then off up north to Taupo and the Waikato River. I am not to sail back from Auckland till May 1, so you can arrange to be with me to suit yourself. I am having a great time here, and my health has very much improved with the Australian sunshine. A’ the best till we meet. —As ever, Harry Lauder.” This is the text of a letter recieved by Mr R. H. Nimmo, of Wellington, yesterday from Sir Harry Lauder. As will be seen, it not only contradicts the report that Sir Harry had cancelled his visit to New Zealand, but it states that he intends to stay in the Dominion for two months', which will be welcome news to all of his old friends and admirers.
