SECOND WOOL SALE.
Big Offering At Dunedin To-morrow. Press Association—Copyright. Dunedin, To-day. A total of 30,000 bales will be offered at the second Dunedin wool sale of the season, to ■be held to-morrow. Catalogues will include a fair proportion ot station clips, most of which will represent haltbred wools with a sprinkling of merino. Approximately GO to 65 per cent, of fine wool will be offered, the balance being crossbred clips from coastal areas. The quality of the wool to be offered is exceptionally good, but the bulk is later shorn than usual owing to adverse weather affecting shearing. The result is a heavier condition. There is also a quantity of seed showing through some of the clips, but there are some early-shorn clips. Included in the various catalogues are some very attractive crossbred clips which are expected to bring good prices.
So far as the sale is concerned, it is anticipated that it will be a good one. It is not expected that Japanese competition will be so strong as at the last sale, when that country’s representatives lifted over one-third of the total offering. Continental buyers will be operating on lots suitable for their trade, and Bradford buyers, who bought practically no wool at the first sale, will be seen operators at increased limits. It is also anticipated that local mills, which up to this period have not purchased their usual supplies, will influence prices for super qualities of fine wools.
