AHEAD OF THE WORLD.

Provision In New Zealand For Aerodromes. Press Association —Copyright. Nelson, February 7. "New Zealand is probably ahead of most countries in the provision of aerodromes and landing- grounds,” the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Hon. R. Semple, said on Saturday, when addressing the large number of people who assembled to see the official beginning of the work on the new aerodrome for Nelson. The Minister emphasised, however, that it was impossible for every town with an aerodrome to oe included on a main air route. In commercial (lying stops should normally be not less than 100 miles apart. The Minister forecast the development of night-flying in New Zealand. Radio and meteorological services would probably be extended considerably, to contribute to safety at all times on the main air routes.
