The newspaper, The People, says that the British Government at the Imperial Conference will request £10,000,000 from the Dominions for Imperial defence. It will also ask New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and South Africa to build up their own navies, air forces and armies to a strength enabling them to defend their homes and leave a surplus to help the Mother Courftry.

The Government will make it clear that the Imperial Navy will be fully occupied in defending Britain and safeguarding Empire sea routes. It is understood that Britain, in return, will take more goods from the Dominions, especially foodstuffs.
