Conversion Of Farm House To Bungalow Type.
At G o'clock in the morning it was just an old fashioned type of dwelling, but twelve house later it had been transformed into a modern bungalow.
This lightning effort in building construction, was accomplished yesterday by the staff of Messrs. Boon Bros, Ltd. at Mr. F. Kemp’s dwelling at Cross Road, Wharehuia. At 6 a.rti. seven men were on the job and commenced to remove an old-fashion-ed type of roof and rafters. The work of iiwering the ceiling to a 9ft. stud and replacing the roof was completed by 6.30 p.ta. and* the house was ready for occupation. Two new rooms who had been made ready as
far as possible were incorporated in the completed structure.
Some finishing touches w-ere added to-day and it was expected that the carpentry work would be completed to-night. The firm se out with the definite intention of completing the re-modelling in one day and succeeded in doing so in face of the doubts of the occupats who went away for two days.
