BAN NOW LIFTED.

Free Movement Of Children Permitted.

From to-morrow the ban on the free movement of children, imposed as a precaution against infantile paralysis, will be lifted and the Health Department has now no objection to their going to picture shows or attending Sunday schools. Although no word has yet been received by the Stratford Committee, it is understood that the health camps have been advised that they may continue their operations provided that the children are medically examined before going to camp. The last party of Stratford children sent to the Otaki camp were returned to their homes on December 9. Another party had been selected but their visit to the camp was postponed on account of-the epidemic. As tome of them may have improved in the meantime a fresh examination will have to be made and it is possible that some of those originally sel.mtetl may not now be taken. Health Department Officials are deeply appreciative of the public spirited action of picture theatre owners in complying with the request., made nearly six weeks ago, to exclude children under 12 years of age.
