Liftmen Stop Work In New York. Press Association—Copyright. * New York, February 2. A small scale reproduction of last year’s building service strike halted elevators in a 42-storey office building for four hours to-day and spread to 17 smaller buildings before a truce was effected. The union announced that strikes were planned in a number of apartment buildings unless contracts were renewed.
