LITTLE GERMAN ENTHUSIASM

FOR HITLER’S SPEECH PEOPLE NERVOUS. Adult Population Thinks There Is Drift To War. Press Association—Copyright. Received noon. LONDON, Feb. 3. The Manchester Guardian points out that information received in London indicate* that there is little enthusiasm in Germany for Hitler’s speech. The adult population is becoming nervous lest Germany drift into a war. In Berlin, another evidence of discontent is the resignation of the Minister of Post and Telegraphs and Transport, Baron von Eltb-Rubenbach, who declined Herr Hitler’s invitation on January 30 to join the Nazi party, as he disapproved of the policy adopted towards the Catholics, who received a severe blow in South Bavaria, where 95 per cent, of parents voted in favour of undenominational schools compared with 65 per'cent, favouring them last year.

Ecclesiastical authorities at Munich issued a statement protesting against the methods used. It is alleged that the Nazi victory was obtained by illegitimate pressure.
