RACIAL DIFFERENCE
Ended On Cricket Field At Suva.
Press Association—-Copyright. Suva, January 19. What is considered a most important move towards the ending of racial discrimination was made on Saturday when the netwly formed United Cricket Association held its first matches. The organisation has been formed to do away, in cricket at least, with any distinction of race. It has been founded on the principle that it is for the welfare of the colony that the younger generation of all races should meet together on the field of sport, and, at 1 a result, it is hoped that racial differences In other spheres of activity will fie softened. The sectional clubs which have so far affiliated with the association include the Fiji Defence Force (two teams), the police, the Lau Cricket Club, the Indian Reform League and the Central Medical School Cricket Club. It is hoped that European players will support the idea.
