London Ladies Adopt Men’s
Fashions.
"Tail cdatß for evening are the newest rage in London. They are ciit like a man’s evening Coat, with shiny revers and tails, and are frequently made of black face cloth, with a matching slim skirt. Others are carried out in black and white," states an overseas writer. Suede suits are also new and are sold with matching hats. Stockings made for toeless sandies have the toe tips coloured in a deelgn of little flowers. Feit bracelets with coloured Tyrolean flowers are worn with coloured suede belts, and a smart evening vogue is the wearing of feather butterflies in the hair. Crochet glover are made in two tones, the backs dark, with light palms and light thumbs. Square toed sboee have swept London.
"Some of the newest black toques Worn with black ensembles have scarves of colourful chiffon floating down the back. Hoods and saris are still popular in London, and I saw Marlene Dietrich at the opening of •Going Places’ at the Savoy looking marvellous in a scarlet chiffon cape and hood wound round her head and floating behind her as she walked.”
