BRADMAN THE HERO

SUPERB BATTING. FOURTH TEST Australia Making Big Score At Adelaide. Press Association—Copyright. Adelaide, February 2. Bradman was? the hero of the fourth day’s play in the fourth cricket test between England and Australia today. He had made 174 not out when stumps were drawn with the Australian total 341 for four wickets. In the first innings Australia made 288 and England 330. The weather was fine and the wicket was still playing well, but England had no spin bowlers to exploit the slightly worn sur-

face. The English bowlers never appeared menacing except Voce, the fast left-hander, who bowled wonderfully. Fames, the hero of the first innings, lost his pace to-day. Allen restricted the mroning attack to the fast bowlers and Verity. The Englishmen seemed tired at lunch and their fielding was not as dashing as on the firlt day, when they saveo evei-y possible run.

Bright play was witnessed after lunch, w’he nthe batsmen dominated the game. Bradman reached his century after batting 196 minutes. He had hit four fours and this was his eleventh century in a test against England, only one behind the recordholder, Hobbs. His century partnership with McCabe was his thirteenth in tests and was scored in 85 mitiutes. The scores are:
