Parrett has retired from the position of managing editor of the Financial Times; This ends the active career of one of England's most able journalists. Mr Barrett, ■who is now 75 years old, came to London after a varied newspair training in the’’provinces. In the City, he specialised in financial journalism, with which he has been identified with for many years and in which field he has risen to the top. He is a widely travelled man an J has published several worlts on otli-r countries. He is a Fellow of . the Royal Geographical Society.
