THE FINAL RUSH.
Over Sixty Mortgage Applications To-day.
Expectations of a final rush to file applications for mortgage adjustment have been more than , realised at Stratford.
On Friday 54 applications were, received at the Courthouse and on iho final day over 60 had been received at 2 p.m., bringing the total to over 300.
The final numbers will not be known for some days, but it is expected that more will be received this afternoon. A certain number filed at Post Offices have still to come.
A feature, of the applications during the past fortnight has been the appearance of unexpected numbers of house mortgages, scarcely any of which had been received previously. The first sitting of the Taranaki Adjustment Commission, Messrs E. H. Young, C. D. Dickie and F. J. Romayne, will be held at Stratford ‘ on Thursday next.
