' Taranaki Life-saving Events Postponed I Close on 3000 p ople were present' ! at Opunake beach yesterday for the j TT/iahaki, life-saving 'championships. • On account of heavy seas the Tabor • Shield and other competitions were | postponed. A cold wind frojn the west was blowing all day and although the weather remained fine I rain was threatening at times. i The only event held was the I march past for the Grey Shield. The | awards were: Old Boys 1, Opunake i and Patba (equal) 2, Ohawe 3, Fitz- ‘ roy and East End (equal) 4. I Previous winners were: 1933 Opunake, 1934 Patea, 1935 Old Boys, 1936 Opunake. In place of the competitions a combined demonstration was given by | the teams.
