AMAZING SCENES AT WEDDING

DUKE OF NORFOLK LADY LAVINA STRUTT. Thousands Stampede At Sight Of Bride. i Press Association —Copyright. Received 11.45 a.m. London, January 27. Brompton Oratory witnessed London’s most brilliant wedding for years, when over §OOO guests attended the marriage of the Duke .of Norfolk and Lady Lavina Strutt, The bride’s retinue bore the Duke's racing colours, sky blue splashed scarlet. Her gown was of heavy silver cloth, cut slim and on close-fit-ting lines. As the bride has not yet been received into the Catholic Church, there was no Nuptial Mass. The 1100 presents included gifts from Their Majesties and other members of the Royal Family. There were amazing scenes outside the bride’s home in Berkeley Square and outside Brompton Oratory. Crowds, numbering thousands and mostly women, stampeded at the sight of the bride. Many fell on the roadways, which were littered with hats, umbrellas and bags, while others crushed against the railings screaming hysterically. Police cordons were broken, but evenaually order was restored by the mounted police. (See story on Page 2.)
