Mr. G. C. Grace Appointed To Fill Position. Mr. Grace joined the Borough staff in 1929 as junior clerk and be fore coming to Stratford was employed in the New Zealand Refrigerating Company’s office at Wanganui. 1n*1933 he was promoted to be assistant town clerk and when Mr. Skoglund resigned last year he became ■ acting town clerk. ! Mr. Grace was born in Greymouth | in 1909 and his parents later removi c d to New Plymouth where he com- | ple-ted his education at the Boys J High School. i In sport he has taken a keen and i active interest particularly in football. He played senior rug'by in i Wanganui and for over three years i h- was a member of the Stratford I Cluib’s senior fifteen. During that ! period the club won the Taranaki : championship and in another year ; was runner-up. Retiring on account .■ of an injury, he concerned himsrlf j with the administrative side and i gave his assistance in various capaI cities. Last year he was club-captain ! and coached the junior team to win ; the Taranaki championship. He has

represented the club on the executive controlling junior football in the Central Division and has also done some refereeing. In cricket, athletics and swimming affairs, h? has given his assistance.
