SIR HUBERT GOUGH.
Recognition Of His Services Promised. Press Associattoß London, January 26. Mr Stanley Baldwin promised a House of Commons deputation to-day that the Government would reconsider the question of recognition of General Sir Hubert Gough, who was made a scapegoat when the Fifth Army was compelled to retreat in France in 1918. The Daily Mail’s political correspondent says he understands General Gough will receive a distinguished honour in the New Year list on jbruary 1.
