DOMINION AFFAIRS

HOUSE OF COMMONS STRANDED MIGRANTS Report On New Zealand Trade Soon Be Possible. Press Association—Copyright. Received 10.10 a.m. London, January 26. In the House of Commons, Mr. "Malcolm MacDonald, Dominions Secretary, replying to queries put by a member, said that it was an exaggeration to say that discussion with Mr. Nash had been proceeding for some months regarding the entry of British manufactures to New Zealand by exchange and the equitable entry of produce into Britain. However, they were making progress, and a report would soon be possible. Mr. MacDonald also stated that the agenda for the Imperial Conference had not yet been finally determined. The Government hoped it would be possible to discuss migration, and they were always prepared to receive Dominion representations on the subject. Mr. Gallagher, M.P.: Will the Government raise the question of the return of British subjects stranded iu the Dominions?

There was no reply. When the Parliamentary Under-Sec-retary to the Dominions was questioned he said that until an agreement concerning Pacific shipping had been reached with the Dominions, it was impossible to make any statement. ,
