FATAL ’PLANE CRASH.

/ Three Girls Killed At Mascot Aerodrome. Press Association—-jopy right. Sydney. January 24. One of the most, colourful young personalities in Australian aviation ended her career this aftrnoon when Miss May Bradford, with two » passengers in her Klemm Eagle machine crashed into a Desoutter plane when taking off from Mascot aerodrome. All three were killed. The passengers are believed to have been Misses Harriet Jane Coley and Ellen Latimer. Mr P. Hoskins, owner-pilot of the Desoutter, said he was just taxiing off to make a flight when he saw Miss Bradford’s Golden Eagle coming towards him. Miss Bradford apparently did not see him and all he could do was to remain stationery. The Golden Eagle continued straight towards him, struck his left wing, passed over the top of his machine and crashed and burst into flames. Mr Hoskins immediately jumped out with a fire extinguisher which was unable to cope with the flames. Miss Harriet Jane Coley’s parents are believed to reside in New Zealand, states a later message. The other passenger is now thoughit to have been Miss Ellen Latimer, formerly a resident of England. A message received at 11.45 a.m. states that it is now definitely established that Miss Coley came from New Zealand and that the third victim was Miss Ellen Latimer, who recently arrived from England. The 15-y ear-old son of May Brad ford, who in private life was Mrs. Shepherd, and hundreds of other people witnessed the tragedy, which was one of the worst in the history of flying in this State. The three women were strapped to their seats and had no chance of escape.
