Social and Personal. Mrs. Jock Anderson and family are spending a holiday at Ngamotu Beach. Miss P. Sullivan entertained at bridge on Thursday night. Miss Lane, Masterton, is visiting Stratford. Mrs E. R. L. Batten was “at home” on Friday afternoon, * • • Mrs Thorpe was “at home” on Thursday afternoon. Mrs N. H. Moss, is spending the week-end w.ith friends in New Plymouth. Mr and Mrs Lucas have returned from an enjoyable holiday spent in Auckland. Mrs M. Browning will leave on Monday morning on a holiday visit to the South Island. Mrs Steven entertained some Stratford friends on Saturday at her beach cottage, Ngamotu. A “bon voyage” party was given for Miss Molly Malone prior to her leaving for a holiday. Mrs W. H. H. Young entertained a few friends on Saturday afternoon to meet Miss K. Humphries, New Plymouth. Mrs Hugh Good, Brecon Road, entertained a few friends on Thursday afternoon to meet Miss Humphries, New Plymouth. Mr and Mrs N. O. Ebbett, Brecon Koad, are. leaving for Wellington on Sunday. They will be accompanied by Mrs Ebbett’s mother, Mrs Sole, who is going on to Nelson for a holiday. Mr and Mrs L. Riera, Juliet Street, left on Friday night by the express for Auckland to visit their daughter, Mrs O’Neil. They are going on to Rotorua, where they intend spending a few weeks.. Mrs Turner, Christchurch, and Miss Skoglund, who have been visiting their sister, Mrs W. J. Spence, left for Wellington on Saturday, en route for Christchurch. They are motoring with their nephew, Mr Peter Skoglund. Mr and Mrs Ashley Skinner, Auckland, and their two daughters, were the guests of Mrs Skinner’s mother, Mrs L. Riera. This week they left for New Plymouth to visit Mrs Skinner’s sister, Mrs Smith, en route for their home in Auckland. On Friday morning Misses Molly Malone, Molly Whittle, Gwen Madden (Wellington), Beryl, Zo& and Ola Masters left for Hamilton in the course of a jolly motor tour of the North Island and will be away some weeks.
