WEDDING.
GRAY—RANFORD. At the Methodist Church. Stratford, on Thursday, January 7, Irene Ethel, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr Frank Ranford, of Stratford, "was . married - to Frederick Arthur, eldest son of Mrs and the. late Mr Gray--of Hawera. Rev. C. .O- Hailwood performed the marriage ceremony and Mr W. Hoskin pffici'ated at : the organ. The church, was tastefully decorated by Mrs Moon. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of hei uncle, Mr Tom Ranford, Palmerston, looked charming in a fitting frock of magnolia satin, falling in a graceful train held in place by a spray of orange bios-
som. The bodice was finished in a square cowl neckline with diamanti I. clasps, and long bell sleeves. The .Bridal veil was fitted to the hair by 1 a beaded lover’s knot, and the beauI tiful bouquet, consisting of lilies, , white roses and sweet peas, with maidenhair and asparagus fern. ,a gift from her Bible Class leader, Mrs Moon, completed the dress. The bride, was attended by Miss . Phyllis Ranford, chief bridesmaid and by Miss Molly Ranford, second bridesmaid, both sisters of the bride, who Wore mist pink and mist blue grano crepe frocks, fashioned on simple Atting fines and trimmed with wr.eaths of pink and blue flowers to tone, with head-dress to match, wore long gloves to tone and a gold bracelet, a gift of the bridegroom, and carried, shower bouquets, of pink carnations and sweet peas and deeper shades of gerbeis daisies and sweet peas respectively. The little flower girl, daughter of Mrs Massey, friend of the 'bride, looked sweet in a long frock of pink organdie, frilled from waist to toe, with hfad-dress to match and carried i a silver crook and horseshoe. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Jack Gray, best man and Mr H. Wilmshurst, groomsman. After the ceremony some 50 friends and relatives assembled at the resi- ; dence of the bride’s mother, who reieeiyed her guests, frocked in a navy ensemble, with hat to match and carried a beautiful posy in autumn shades. She was accompanied by Mrs White, grandmother of the bride, who was becomingly attired in black and white, with grey and mauve accessories and carried a posy of violet and asparagus. Mrs E. Gray, mother- of tlre- brjdegroom, wore a bottle green ensemble with hat to tone and earriel a posy Of red tinted flowers and asparagus. The spacious living-room was artistically decorated by friends of the bride. The three-tier cake, beautifully decorated, was the work of the bride's mother, as also, were all tile bridal frocks. Later in the afternoon the bride and groom left by ear on their honeymoon, the bride’s travelling frock being navy woollen georgette suit, finished at neck with large navy and white bow. with navy eye-veil hat and'all accessories to tone. The happy couple were the recipients of many useful and beautiful presents, including several cheques.
