Record Day For The New Year. All available parking space in Broadway was in constant occupation during the shopping hours last night and throughout the shops an exceptional volume of business was done: Being the first, shopping night after the initial factory pay-out of the year and co-inciding with fine weather, the night was, from the business point of view, the best that has been ex- ' perienced since Christmas and is con- . sidered to have eclipsed the corresponding nights for some years past.
