A highlight of the day’s play was the race by Barnett and Hammond for the honour of scoring 1000 runs in first class cricket this season. Barnett won with only 15 minutes to spare. England lost six for 204, a. poor effort, especially as they represented the majority of the team for the fourth test. Wyatt’s knock was one of the highlights of the innings in view of the coining test. He was restrained but very sound. The attendance was 10,000 and receipts were £490. Details are: ENGLAND.
