The Government was represented by the Minister of Labour, the Hon. 11. T. Armstrong, and the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin. The conference opened at 10 a.m. and was continued throughout the day and evening, there being a protracted discussion of contentious questions of labourers’ wages in freezing works and the num- : ber of operatives on the chain sys- ! tern.
