Miss Dulcie Kehely returned on Monday from an enjoyable visit to Auckland, where she visited friends. • - - Miss M. Humphries, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mrs. Hugh Good, Brecon Road. Mrs C. Dickinson is visiting Patea. Miss Shirley Jefferies is at present the guest of her grandmother in Auckland. ... Miss E. Esplin has been the guest of Miss E. Rogers. She left for New Plymouth on Sunday to stay with Mrs E. H. Young at her beach cottage, Ngamotu. Mr and Mrs C. H. Rogers, Wellington, have been visiting Mr and Miss E. Rogers during the holidays. They left for their home in Wellington on Friday. Mrs. Hugo gave an enjoyable afternoon party on Friday at her residence, Opunake Road. The chief guest was Mrs. Armstrong, formerly of Stratford and now of North Auckland. Miss Noeline Tunbridge had a jolly birthday party on Wednesday night, when many young friends came to wish her "many happy returns of the day.” Miss E. Rogers was hostess of a delightful musical afternoon, when duets, trios and quartets were played, most of the guests being capable musicians. Those present were: Mr and Mrs Grady (Wellington), Mr and Mrs 0. H. Rogers (Wellington), Mrs W. Carter (Palmerston North), Mrs. D’Arth, Mrs G. Carter, the Misses Hudson (England), L. Carryer, and Chadwick. Mrs Jefferies, Regan Street West, was the hostess of a most enjoyable afternoon tea-party. She received her guests in a black georgette and lace frock. She had arranged her draw-ing-room very artistically, with large vases of roses and pink gladioli and hydrangeas. Those present were: Mesdames G. Hale, S. Pitt, W. J. Spence, Turner (Christchurch), J. B. Richards, E. Rutherfurd, F. Uniacke, O. A. Hugo, Truby King, D. R. McLean, J. Fredric, Bettes, and Miss Skoglund (Christchurch).
