WELLINGTON FIRE.
Outbreak In Warehouse Opposite Fire Station.

An alarm o£ fire was given at 5.30 this morning by James Dale, driver of a meat lorry, the outbreak being I in the premises of Hutcheson and Wilson, Lower Cuba Street, about 20 yards from the Central Fire Station. The fire broke out on the top floor of the three-storey building. This floor was occupied by the firm as a warehouse and was conipletTy gut- ‘ ted. The floor beneath was occupied by Messrs B. J. Ball (N.Z.) Ltd., paper merchants, and suffered greatly from water. Water also got through to the ground floor of Hutcheson Wilson’s retail department. No estimate of any damage suffered has yet been given.
